(Late to the party but it bugged me that such an ignorant, even dangerous, comment sits at the top of the page unchallenged.)

This comment is a perfect example of that kind of glee. Talk about missing the point!

For the record, even better than a nuclear taboo would be a taboo against all weapons of large-scale destruction. Or even a taboo against any form of government-sanctioned killing. (You'd think it would be a small step from the already strong taboo against all non-government-sanctioned killing.) But we don't have any of those! So the nuclear taboo is, as Schelling said, an asset to be treasured, even if we hope for it to be subsumed by a better taboo.

Nuclear, when you make wild claims that you have absolutely no evidence for, thay do not become more believable when you repeat them again with absolutely no evidence.
