A talk I gave a year ago at Oxford on “Catastrophe, Social Collapse and Human Extinction” is now available as an online vid here. Slides here, related paper here. The talk went beyond the paper to introduce the idea of refuge markets, which I blogged here.

John Robb is also interested in “resilient communities” robust to social disruption. He blogs at Global Guerrillas. I think he overhypes stuff and overuses buzzwords, but its still interesting.
You should make the relevant words into links themselves, like “online vid” – instead of a bunch of “here”s.
Is there any way to download the video for offline viewing? I can’t get vimeo videos to work for me on a 64-bit unix box.
Download? Perhaps try: http://keepvid.com/
