I’m going to try to make this one. If anyone with transportation can meet me at a Caltrain stop, it would be much appreciated.
I too would be interested in transport from the caltrain stop.
There is a Stanford career fair that day – so that’s a bad day to pick for interested Stanford folks.
I gotta find a job, so I can’t attempt.
Oh wait, sorry it’s much later in the day…
Nevermind…
Anyone driving from SF who wouldn’t mind a passenger?
I live near the other coast, so I won’t be going. Have fun, everyone, and watch out for vampires!
Count me in. I recently moved to the Bay Area from Minnesota.
Who still needs a ride from the Caltrain Station?
Well, I just looked up the transit schedule and this would be over a two-hour commute each way. Sorry, not worth it, unless I can join Matt in finding a ride from SF. Any chance we could hold the next one of these a little further north?
shouldn’t everyone who wants to definitely attend be charted on a map and then a focal point that minimizes the sum travel time of all participants found? :p
I’d be happy to host but my apt only holds maybe 10 people comfortably.

That sounds like a premise for a National Lampoon spoof. A bunch of rationalists need to decide where to get together, and end up meeting in the middle of a garbage dump after applying that algorithm.
since the earth is a curved surface we should meet underground somewhere.
Nazgulnarzil, whether or not someone wants to attend may depend on the location, so it would have to be an iterative algorithm.
a problem with that is that the algorithm would place a high value on putting the focal point in a location where people would not want to attend anymore since this would subtract quite a bit of total travel time. So the algorithm would probably choose a location that the OB writers won’t attend since when they don’t attend hardly anyone else wants to.
